oooh this looks very interesting. what is that exactly? is it a sweet-filled pastry? I like how it looks on the outside..I can imagine it to be quite a crisp flaky sort of sweet. x

yeah its pastry filled with rice molasses with a bit of caramelised onions, some without.

There's another version called "pong piah" which is flatter, more flaky and softer. Beh teh soh has more bite to it.
