I've just learn something new at 3:44am loaded with Flying Dog's Imperial Porter.
Vietnamese Coriander = Laksa Leaves(Singapore) = Daun Kesom(Malaysia)
Just by reading Vietnamese Herbs thro Rasa Malaysia's guest post by White on Rice Couple on Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls. All these while I was thinking it was Culantro(Mexico) = Wild Coriander = Phak Chii Farang(Thai) = Ketumbar Jawa(Malay)
And I also googled into this website that has pretty good information of herbs and spices.
Teh internet... can't live without it.

I am not a fan of beer but enjoy all those FABULOUS shots in ur blog. Tks for ur friendly request!
What's a beer I never try before. First time I saw this brand? The color look like "Guinness"
Where can I find this?
food for tots: thanks for the add! love your recipes and photos on your blog as well.
tan.wiratchada: Its a craftbrew from USA. Its called a Porter, which is quite similar to a Stout like Guinness. We're lucky in Singapore that there's a distributor for this.
oh and tan, are you in Singapore now? You can get this beer over at Carrefour @ Plaza Singapura or Suntec.
hehehe my current favorite is tsing tao ^_^....an icy cold glass in a hot day = perfection
brrr it is now cold here, tho, so i want a hot choco instead :p
Rita: oh yes! Tsingtao on a hot day IS perfection!
I actually went out and bought this upon seeing your blog. It is a pretty good porter. A little on the hoppy side to be perfect but pretty darn good. Of all the microbreweries in the US I'm surprised they import this one although this is one of the better ones. Brooklyn Brewery, Harpoon, and Dogfish Head are other really good ones. I'm really glad you turned me on to this as I'm not all that into Asian style lagers (like Tiger or Tsingtao etc). All that I could find that I liked was ABC Stout (which actually is pretty good).
It tastes a lot like DogFishHead's 90 IPA plus some chocolate malt.
hey john, good to hear from a fellow craftbeer guzzler! glad you've tried it!
While I love all those craftbrews, asian type of lagers works well with asian food like seafood, shellfood, stirfries and many others. I don't think a hopppy IPA would work well with chilli crabs. Clash of strong characters!
